The New Girl’s Guide to Visiting Dallas

new girls guide Dallas

Well friends, I have been a Dallas transplant for about 7 months now (that still seems so crazy to me).  I have explored just about every area, and I still feel like I have barely scratched the surface on all the amazing things to see and do here.  I have been compiling a list of my favorite places so far because the questions I get most often are from people planning a trip to Dallas.  So here is a new girl’s guide on the must see places in Dallas.

DOT’S HOP HOUSE AND COURTYARD: If you are looking for a fun and pretty place, in Deep Ellum, to hang with friends, this is your spot.  The outdoor chandelier is so gorgeous and the drinks (and cheese fries) are the best!

STIRR: One of my fav places for brunch in Deep Ellum.  This restaurant is so gorgeous, and the rooftop patio is so cool! Also, it is a popular spot for an instagram photo.

LOWER GREENVILLE: This is a broad location, but that is because the entire area is so cool.  There are so many restaurants, bars, and shops to visit.  Some of my favorite places are Steel City Pops, HG Supply Co. (also a super cute roof top), and Joy Macarons.

BREAD WINNER’S: This restaurant in one of my all time favorites and probably one of the most iconic in Dallas.  There are multiple locations, but my favorite is in Uptown.  The food here is amazing, and so are the baked goods.  It’s also dog friendly, so that is always a plus.

SAINT ANN: If you are looking for something a little nicer, Saint Ann, is your go to.  Whether you are looking for a delicious brunch, dinner, or even just drinks, this place has it all.  Also, the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and definitely a prime spot for an insta photo.

DEEP SUSHI: If you love sushi, then you will LOVE this place!  Located in Deep Ellum, it has delicious rolls and great prices.  I tell everyone to visit this place when they come to Dallas.  It is my absolute favorite.

MUTT’S CANINE CANTINA: The coolest dog park in Uptown!  I took my little pup, Tillie, here recently and she had a blast!  No dog?  No problem.  There is a snack bar complete with yummy drinks and food to enjoy while admiring all the cute dogs.

THE RUSTIC: Such fun hangout with a great patio in Uptown.  This place is great for happy hour, brunch, or  a concert on the weekend.

THE ARBORETUM:  This is another iconic spot in Dallas and definitely picture worthy.  It is absolutely gorgeous in the fall and at Christmas time!

THE STATLER:  This hotel is quite possibly the coolest place I have ever been.  It has a old school 50’s vibe with a modern twist.  The restaurants inside are amazing and the rooftop bar and pool area will seriously take your bReath away.  It is located in the middle of Downtown Dallas, so the view is absolutely amazing!

HAPPIEST HOUR:  Another fun bar/hangout spot in Dallas!  This one has lawn games and lots of seating, but also a cool rooftop and tons of t.v’s to watch a big game.

KATY TRAIL:  If you’re looking for a place to take a leisurely stroll or maybe a run, Katy Trail is your go to.  It is so gorgeous and goes all throughout Uptown Dallas.

NORTHPARK MALL: While there are sooo many places to shop in Dallas, this seems to be my go to.  The mall is gorgeous and has stores at every price point for everyone.
